Mulch comes in 3 different kinds. There is Pine Bark which is a brown color, Hemlock which is a reddish / brown color, and Red Cedar which is a bright red color. Mulching is not just to make property look good but serves a critical purpose in a landscape's survival. New mulch in beds each year helps bushes, trees and plants maintain a healthy life. Mulch helps to conserve water for the bushes, trees, plants and control soil temperature. It also helps protect the roots from being exposed to storms, wind, animals and snow. A healthy coat of mulch (3-4 inches) also helps to prevent the growth of weeds in mulch beds.
